Join our next Forum with Dr. Gordon & Michael where you will learn:
- Understand the nervous system foundation under everything else you've tried. A body held in threat deprioritizes repair, digestion, and immune balance, so symptoms keep cycling no matter what gets stacked on top. Finally, an explanation that fits the cases that haven't.
- Learn why capacity matters more than calm. Calming techniques help some states and deepen others, and forcing calm onto an activated system compounds the charge rather than clearing it. So you stop doing the thing that's been making it worse.
- Learn what regulation actually is, and what dysregulation looks like. The signals it shows up as: breath, muscle tone, digestion, sleep, speed of thought, the pull to fight, flee, please, or disappear. So you can recognize it in yourself, and in the person in front of you.
- Understand why sensitive systems react more. A system taking in more input has more places to get stuck, which is why treatment that works for most people doesn't work predictably here. So the reactivity stops reading as non-compliance, or as a personal failing.
- Hear why no two nervous systems are the same. The same state presents differently in different people, which is why generic advice about what a state "should" feel like fits some and misses others entirely. So you stop applying instructions that were never going to fit.
- Learn how to identify dysregulation in the patient in front of you. What it looks like functionally: breath, voice, posture, digestion, sleep, the pull to fight, flee, please, or disappear. So you can recognize it in your next session, with no panel to run.
EXPERIENTIAL COMPONENT
Learning about this work is one thing. Having a physical
experience of it is a different story.
You won’t only be learning, you’ll experience the work in real time. During the session, Michael will guide a short live practice: a few minutes of directed attention to breath, tension, and state, so your system gets a reference point rather than a description. Most people notice a shift while it’s happening.

18 Years in Functional Health. Nearly a Decade in Trauma, Somatics, and Emotional Healing. One Foundation Underneath It All.
Michael spent 18 years on the physical side of health — exercise science, functional medicine, mentorship under leading practitioners, and a decade teaching and interviewing the field’s biggest names.
Then he went looking for what that side couldn’t reach. Nearly a decade in nervous system and trauma work, somatic therapy, and breathwork.
What he found from both sides: the nervous system isn’t the next thing to add. It’s the ground everything else is built on — and the reason good protocols stall on people doing everything right.

What People Say About Michael’s Work…
I've been around really good teachers — I've spent a day with Gabor Maté, and did something with Stan Grof — and you're among my favorites. You're emotionally and cognitively clear, authentic, embodied, nuanced, and fun. You say complex things in really graspable street language.
William Sebrans
Things changed for me much more than I expected. Michael was able to make me feel very safe and comfortable. He respects boundaries you didn't even consciously put there. I felt seen and supported. This by itself is very healing.
Federica Marinelli, MD
The nice thing about the nervous system states is that, once recognized, the exercises are easy to do — and it's very helpful to know which exercises are appropriate for which state.

He really knows how to take you toward your edge, but not over it, so you can integrate the experience and release emotions in a very safe way. He knows where you're at, he knows what you need, and he trusts himself fully.
Sven Chanton, Breathwork Facilitator + Intimacy Coach

Michael's presence is both solid and empathetic at once. You feel safely held in a container of non-judgment. He offers unyielding support and yet manages to hold you accountable in your own healing process.

This Workshop is For You If…
If you're living with it:
- You’ve done the protocols, the diets, the labs, the practitioners, and you’re improved but stuck, with no clear explanation why.
- Your symptoms flare with stress, your sleep doesn’t restore you, and you’ve never quite known what to do with that.
- You react to foods, supplements, and environments that other people handle fine.
- You know what to do and can’t sustain it. The changes don’t hold, and you’ve read that as your own failure.
- You’ve heard the nervous system is the missing piece, tried breathing and meditation and calming down, and you’re not sure what you’re supposed to do with any of it.
If you're treating it:
- You know dysregulation and trauma drive chronic illness, but the information out there is a mess of buzzwords and you want the accurate version.
- Your clients know what to do and can’t sustain it. The changes don’t hold, and it gets read as non-compliance.
- You have clients doing everything right whose progress stalls, and no clear explanation why.
- Your clients are asking about the nervous system and you need a real answer.
- You absorb dysregulation all day, and you want to work from a steadier system instead of carrying it home.

About Michael
Founder, Anima · Somatic & Nervous System Education
Michael spent eighteen years on the physical side of health — a Master’s in exercise science, functional medicine training, and a decade teaching and interviewing the biggest names in the field. He kept running into the same wall. There are things protocols, diets, and lifestyle changes can’t touch — emotions, trauma, the nervous system, what the body holds underneath.
He needed that depth himself, and kept seeing how many others did too. So he went looking: nearly a decade in nervous system and trauma work, somatic therapy, breathwork, and grief. The two sides aren’t separate. The nervous system is where they meet — and the reason healing on either “ side” often stalls without it being addressed.
