Discover how the Cell Danger Response framework is reshaping our understanding of why some people remain stuck in chronic illness for years or even decades.
The current medical model has a major blind spot when it comes to chronic illness, often missing how your body can become trapped in protective phases that prevent the completion of the natural healing cycle.
This comprehensive eGuide from Gordon Medical explores the three-phase Cell Danger Response and the vital role mitochondria play in moving from damage to complete recovery in complex chronic conditions.

your journey
For decades, Gordon Medical has supported individuals in successfully healing from persistent symptoms and complex chronic illnesses.
We've seen real progress when we look beyond isolated diagnoses and instead address how the body's systems work together: the nervous system's regulation, the immune system's responses, and the body's structural integrity all influence one another. Each person's path to recovery is unique, and we are bringing these insights directly to you.
Our upcoming forum brings together pioneering clinicians and researchers exploring how infection, inflammation, and dysregulation intersect in ways that reshape our understanding of chronic illness.
Take control of your health journey today.
Join us to discover an integrated approach to physiology that moves beyond simple categories like Lyme, mold, and mast cell, toward a more complete picture of healing.

Cathleen King, DPT
Dr. King presents integrative neuroregulatory strategies combining vagus nerve stimulation, brain retraining, trauma resolution, breathwork, and postural interventions for complex illness recovery.

Mark Gordon, MD
Dr. Gordon examines how neuroinflammation disrupts hormonal regulation and microbiome signaling, contributing to TBI pathology, chronic illness, and neurodegeneration.

Aimie Apigian, MD, MS, MPH
Dr. Apigian explores how trauma physiology drives chronic illness, detailing nervous system states, cellular regulation, and pathways for restoring safety and resilience.

Robert Naviaux, MD, PhD
Dr. Naviaux reveals how the Cell Danger Response reframes chronic illness as a reversible healing cycle, bridging mitochondrial research with future regenerative therapies.

Yonatan Whitten, DC
Dr. Whitten outlines how postural balance, foot health, and functional movement restore homeostasis and reduce chronic pain and inflammation.

Dale Bredesen, MD
Dr. Bredesen reframes Alzheimer’s and related diseases as systemic failures, highlighting detoxification, infection control, and immune regulation in prevention.

Raymond Perrin, DO, PhD
Dr. Perrin explains how thoracic spine dysfunction and sympathetic dysregulation impair lymphatic drainage, driving neuroinflammation and toxic congestion in ME/CFS.

Michael Roesslein
Michael Roesslein explains how functional breathing influences emotional balance, nervous system regulation, and the body’s capacity for self-healing.

Fleet Maull, PhD, CMP-T
Fleet Maull presents neurosomatic mindfulness, merging neuroscience, somatic awareness, and radical responsibility to support nervous system regulation and deep healing.

Tapley Holland
Tapley Holland shares how dose-specific PRP can restore cellular signaling, regulate inflammation, and support tissue repair in chronic inflammatory disease.

Amy Selinger, PT, DPT, OCS
Dr. Selinger explains how trauma, hypermobility, and chronic illness contribute to pelvic floor dysfunction and how targeted therapies restore function.

Navaz Habib, DC
Dr. Habib reframes common misconceptions about the vagus nerve, detailing its neuroimmune role and practical methods to enhance parasympathetic tone.

Kent Holtorf, MD
Dr. Holtorf outlines how thymic peptides and bioregulators recalibrate immune signaling, mitigate neuroinflammation, and promote repair in chronic inflammatory syndromes.

Chris Centeno, MD
Dr. Centeno explains how targeted injection therapies can restore craniocervical stability, relieve autonomic symptoms, and help patients avoid fusion surgery.

Michael McEvoy
Michael McEvoy details how chronic inflammation distorts iron metabolism, leading to anemia of inflammation and immune system imbalance.

Jamie Kunkle, ND
Dr. Kunkle explores how mast cell activation, autonomic dysregulation, and connective tissue disorders intersect to drive neuropsychiatric symptoms.

Jodi Cohen
Jodi Cohen shares how essential oils serve as gentle tools to quiet the nervous system, stimulate smell, and support cognitive function.

Andrew Maxwell, MD
Dr. Maxwell explains Spiky Leaky Syndrome, where intracranial pressure fluctuations, cranial nerve compression, and dysautonomia converge within chronic illness physiology.

a new approach for chronic illness
Have you been experiencing symptoms for longer than 3 months?
More than likely, present symptoms are often no longer directly related to the inciting causes. It is now time to evaluate and assign relative weights to the different issues:
- Is your problem less Lyme Disease and more so other hidden infections?
- Is there significant Mast Cell Activation and minimal issues with detox? Is it the opposite, both or neither?
- Is viral activation impactful in your case?
- What are the multiple layers contributing to your illness and which ones need to be addressed first for you?
